The Blogosphere report analyzes the growing social and economic impact of this once niche-communications channel.
The number of people creating blogs in the US will also grow, reaching 34.7 million people by 2012—16% of the Internet population. By contrast, there were some 22.6 million US bloggers in 2007, a number that correlates to 12% of Internet users.
Buoyed by these massive levels of consumer engagement, US blog advertising will reach $746 million in 2012, up from $283 million in 2007.

Los consumidores sienten mayor credibilidad de las companías cuando la información viene de otra persona como ellos… segun un informe realizado por Edelman en USA.

“The sites typically provide tools for users to download photos of interesting products found on retail Web sites to their profile page or blog. Users then share and discuss their findings with the community,” says Mr. Grau. “To buy an item, a shopper simply clicks through on the product photo to the retailer’s Web site, where the purchase is made.”

Yellow Pages Searches Growing

Yellow Pages usage grew to 17.2 billion searches in 2007, up from 16.7 billion in 2006, according to the Yellow Pages Association. Print usage remained stable with 13.4 billion lookups, the same as in 2006, according to the 2007 Knowledge Networks/SRI “Industry Usage Study.”
The companies said that about 87% of the US population used the print yellow pages in 2007.
comScore said that Internet yellow pages searches increased 15% in 2007 to 3.8 billion, from 3.3 billion in 2006.
The average number of monthly searchers grew 16% in 2007 to 73 million, from 63.1 million in 2006.
The YPA said that the yellow pages are a $31 billion industry worldwide.
